Week 6

Today in class we worked with html and css making squares move, spin, grow, and shrink all at the same time using animations.

2. Have you ever worked with retina graphics? If so, when and what techniques did you use?

I have not worked with retina graphics but plan to search them now and see how I can implement and use them.

3. What is the CSS display property. Can you give a few examples of its use?

The display property thats found in CSS defines how components(div, hyperlink, heading, etc) are going to be placed on the web page. As the name suggests, this property is used to define the display of the different parts of a web page. It is used to displays an element as an inline element.

4. What are the advantages/disadvantages of using CSS pre-processors?

Advantages- Ability to add variables, functions, ect // Join multiple files // avoid repetitions // basic CSS // Nested Syntax // Less time to code // Darken and lighten functionality

Disadvantages-Debugging is harder // Compilation slows down development // They can produce very large CSS files //Maintenance and over engineering // Tooling and developer convenience // Saving generated files // Capability and understanding.

5. Describe z-index and how stacking context is formed.

A stacking context is created when an element is positioned and assigned a z-index value other than auto, or when an element has an opacity value less than 1.

6. Have you used different HTML templating languages before? What are they and what do you think about them?

No I have not, I will have to search the different kinds of languages and see what I can use it with.
