I saw the monkey

taken

from the trees

now broken-hearted

down

on her knees

I saw the lion, and tiger

and a brown bear

too

Ripped from nature

now caged

in a zoo

I saw the crime lord

captured

and locked away

For murder

and heroin

Selling fantasies

to the users all day

I saw my mother

and father

handcuffed today

Dragged away crying

And now

I have nowhere to play

No home

No parents

Nowhere to stay

They put me in a cage
