Saving in Advance

When planning a wedding, most of the time, all laid out financial plans do not work out the way we plan them. Money is never enough, as things to do keep popping up.

I handled most of the details of my sister’s wedding and after seeing the stress she went through, I am determined not to stress myself that way. First of all, she had a budget and even though her husband footed most of the bills, there was still a lot she did herself. After the wedding, we discovered that her account was almost empty. Even though people keep saying that when planning a wedding, we should plan for life after the wedding, this never registers as financial responsibilities keep piling up.

So, I have decided to open a Stash.ng savings account. It is a platform that let’s me choose what to save for, how long I want to save, how much I want to save and how often I want to save. I am going to save towards my wedding, even though the husband is not here yet.

Las las, when it is time for my wedding, we won’t need to stress ourselves as I would’ve put out money for basic necessities. We can worry about starting a home after the wedding, and not worry about the wedding itself. This way, everyone gets to avoid unnecessary stress.

After all, gone are the days when only the husband gets to worry about footing the bills. Nowadays, we get to jointly plan our financial future and this is one way to ensure a smooth ride at the beginning.
