A day in the life of a Growup VA

1. You have been working for Growup since February of 2021 — but is this your first time working virtually?

Yes, although my previous company did have the concept of work from home on alternate Saturdays, This is my first ever full-fledged remote work.

2. What has changed for you and your client since starting your engagement?

I had started my deployment journey with 2 clients. With the first client, the onboarding had been smooth and the client was very receptive to the use of new programs/tools to make remote work easier.

With the second one, I have had a typical adjustment phase and it has taken time to understand each other’s expectations and ultimately now, a comfortable communication flow has been established.

3. What from your background helped prepare you for serving clients virtually?

Being a facilitator for Pan India level training workshops at the head office has helped me prepare to serve clients remotely. Working as a facilitator for these training workshops meant that I often communicated and coordinated with trainers and development coaches across India virtually to set up the program schedules. Working on the administrative side of these programs has helped me settle into my role of offering administrative assistance to my current clients.

4. What is one thing about what you do that makes you excited to get up tomorrow and do it again?

The aspect of doing different things every day is what excites me the most about this job. As a person, I often get tired of routines and I always try to do something different, no matter how small to keep myself engaged. Being with the current clients has enabled me to do different things every day and often I am excited to discover what is in store for me for that particular day.
