Metamorphosis

A Poem

Let my limbs ramify
to plough downwards
perforating the earth
condensed; clogged
lightening her heart,
let my trunk split
static to stately
in a fractal fashion
raising offshoots,
let fingertips sprout
as axillary buds,
let my skin be bark
scribbled by time,
eyes, ears cleaved
for leaves to burgeon
in blissful swinging
spinning the storms
enduring the sun
concave to dew
letting the rain go,
concentrating at
three sixty degrees
with cosmic flow,
season by season
moulting my colors
to be lit on purpose,
transporting nectar
to petals’ nucleus
for bees to swallow,
who knows
an angel may sing
perched on a bough
or contemplate
once in a while
to nest my hollow.
